My Privacy Policy

Alchemy Edits is solely owned and operated by Danielle Taylor. I offer editorial services for manuscripts, consultations, and resources to authors. I work with authors from many genres and locations.

This policy describes how I protect and use the information you give me. Any information you provide will only be used as stated in this policy.
 

Why I Collect Information

The specific information I gather from you is so that I can:

  • respond to your requests for information (e.g., availability or a quote for services),

  • contact you while a project is ongoing,

  • implement certain functions on my website,

  • better understand how visitors use my website.

The Information I Collect

The necessary information I collect is:

  • name,

  • email address,

  • information pertinent to your inquiry (e.g., word count, nature of project, services you are interested in, etc.),

  • billing address and phone number upon acceptance of a contract,

  • payment information upon acceptance of a contract.​​

How I Use Your Information

Your information is used as follows:

  • for my internal account management (i.e.  invoicing you) and to remain compliant with tax jurisdictions should an audit be requested,

  • to respond to your inquiry, quote, or booking,

  • to record your agreement to the terms and conditions of my services,

  • I will never use your information for marketing or promotion purposes without getting your permission in writing first (e.g. to publish your testimonial for me on my website or social media).

How I Collect Information

I collect and store necessary information in the following ways:

  • contact form (via Wix),

  • proposal and Contracts (via Dubsado),

  • testimonial form (via Dubsado),

  • email (via Wix).

How I  Store Your Information

The necessary information I collect is stored on the following data servers:

  • Wix. This is my website host. It is password-protected and has SSL-certification (https) to provide an additional layer of security. You can access Wix’s privacy policy here.

  • Dubsado. This is a cloud-based file management system accessed via my password-protected computer. Contracts, proposals, file exchanges, and payments are processed through Dubsado. You can read Dubsado’s privacy policy here

How Long I Keep Your Information

  • Many of my clients work with me more than once, therefore I do not delete information unless you specifically request that I do so.

  • You may request that your information be deleted or updated. I will immediately comply with your request so long as it does not interfere with any legal requirements.

How I  Share Your Information

  • I do not share your information with any other entity unless you request that I do so in writing or I am legally obligated to do so.

  • I will never lease, distribute or sell your information to third parties unless you give me written permission to do so, or I am required to do so by law.

  • I will remove your information (other than what is required for internal account management and tax purposes) from Wix and Dubsado at any time.

AI Policy

I do not use artificial intelligence (AI) programs on client work and I will never upload client work to any AI programs. All editorial feedback and any other documents are written entirely by me based on my lifetime of business and writing experience.
