Who Else Is Exhausted?

I’m totally exhausted. Not the kind of exhausted that comes from hard physical labor… I’m mentally burnt out from all of the “follow 4 follow” notifications I’ve received in the past week.
I joined Facebook groups because I am looking for communities of entrepreneurs who genuinely want to share and learn from each other. I did not join because I want to spend my days following people I don’t even know just to push some ineffective short-term algorithm.
Based on my own burnout over this, I did a little quick research. It turns out that “follow 4 follow” is not an effective strategy at all.
In fact, it can actually hurt your social media visibility because the algorithms give more weight to actual engagement than basic followers.
That feels right. That settles the little churn in my stomach that started yesterday when my exhaustion set in.
Engaging, offering valuable insights and collaborating have been the benchmarks to organically build and sustain an audience who truly are interested since 2010, especially in a digital environment. These are the keys to creating a conversion strategy that works.
Yes, it takes time. And, yes, it can be stressful to slowly watch the needle climb. And… YES, it is absolutely worth the patience when you begin to see consistent returns by way of increased sales, returning customers and new pathways opening to support your business growth. Did I mention that organic is always better than sponsored? ALWAYS…
